Phillis Nolan, a longtime member of Blackrock B.C. died recently. Phillis was probably one of the the best Irish lady bowlers ever as is evident from this reproduction of a plaque in her club listing her many achievements  over a long career. Last year she was honoured as a recipient of a special badge and scroll from the BLI and LBLI at our  prizegiving dinner. An inspiration to all in Blackrock she was always willing to help beginners and her team mates and was a gracious lady on and off the green. In any discussion on ladies bowls her name will feature prominently. Good to see her son and grandchildren retain the family tradition and compete at a high level in the sport she loved.

The BLI and LBLI wish to send their condolences to her husband Philip, her sons and daughter, her grandchildren and extended family.
May Phillis’s gentle soul rest in peace.
