First Round Table Calculator

This table can be used to work out the number of bye’s required in the first round of your club’s domestic competitions.

For example if there are 33 entries for a particular competition find the “Ent” for 33 in the table.  You will see that this has the number 2 in the “Prel or 1st ” column to the right.  This means you will have 2 entries play in the Preliminary or first round (1 match) and 31 entries plus will get a bye into the second round where with the winner of the first round there will be 16 matches.

In order to ensure that 2 finalists get through to the last round each round must be a multiple of 2 (e.g.  2, 4, 8, 16, 32 etc.)
