ILB LEAGUES

When the ILB was created arising out of the merger of the BLI and LBLI the majority of the old BLI and LBLI leagues were retained.  As a consequence a number of leagues now had duplicated numbers assigned to them.  To facilitate the retention of these numbers the day and time the league was played was added to the name.  The new ILB leagues are as follows

  1. Division 5 – Saturday Moring League  – 1 rink played to 14 ends starting at 11.00am.
  2. Division 1, 2, and 3 – Saturday Afternoon League – 4 rinks played to 18 ends starting at 2.30pm.  ***
  3. Division 4 and 5 – Monday Evening – 3 rinks played to 16 ends starting at 6.00 or 6.30pm depending on time of year.
  4. Division 1 – Wednesday Afternoon – 4 rinks played to 18 ends starting at 2.30pm.
  5. Division 2 – Wednesday Afternoon – 3 rinks played to 18 ends starting at 2.30pm.
  6. The Veterans Leagues – 2 rinks played to 16 ends starting at 11.00am.
  7. Division 3A & 3B  – Wednesday Afternoon – 2 rinks played to 18 ends starting at 2.30pm.

***  Where a club has 2 home matces scheduled for a Saturday afternoon the junior team plays at 10.30am

Divisions 1 and 2 on Saturday and Division 1 on Wednesday are deemed Senior Leagues.  All other leagues are deemed to be Junior.  In general anyone playing in Senior Leagues are not allowed to play in Junior Leagues.  There are some exceptions to this which are documented in the competition rules.

There is no differation between Senior and Junior players in the Veterans.  The only entry qualification is that the player must be over the age of 55 on the 1st of April of the current year.
