On the evening of Wednesday the 16th of December 2020 the BLI took a historic step when it held it’s first ever online AGM using the Video Conferencing platform ZOOM.  Because the meeting was online it meant that all of our country member clubs could join in without the necessity of what could be a long journey to Dublin.  In fact at it’s peak there were 58 in attendance as well as  the first attendance at a BLI AGM of Dick Larkin’s dog.

The meeting was chaired by our President Pat Wall from Westmanstown Bowling Club ably assisted by our Secretary Charles Lynch of Blackrock Bowling Club.  The technical adviser was  our PRO Sean Keegan from Crumlin Bowling Club.  There were a few teething problems at the start but once Pat had explained the mechanics of using ZOOM with a large audience the meeting ran quite smoothly and was very similar to what goes on when we are all together in Kenilworth Bowling Club.

All in all a good evening and congratulations are due to all those who planned and set it up,  Maybe this is the way of the future not only for the AGM but also for future Council meetings.

The amended constitution and competition rules will be put on this website when the minutes of the AGM have been passed by the next council meeting.
