Summer 2025 Update

ILB Board / Management Committee

Good news – Pearl Kelleher, Ierne B.C. has been nominated for the position of
Assistant Secretary and has been co-opted to the ILB Board/ Management. This is
an extremely important development as it maintains the Sport Ireland mandated 40%
minimum representation of women on the boards of National Governing Bodies
(NGBs), Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs), and other funded bodies.

The non-Board / Management Committee position of Assistant Treasurer remains
unfilled and nominations from clubs are welcome.

Male International Selectors
The male International Selector and one male Inter-Association Selector are in the
last year of their three year office. Nominations for these positions should be sent to
the ILB Hon. Secretary by the end of August 2025.
The ILB nominee for the international selector position will have to be ratified
subsequently by the IBA.

ILB Championships 2026
Following a rule change at the last ILB AGM, the ILB championships finals are no
longer tied to the incumbent Presidents’ green. As a result, Clubs are invited to
apply to host the 2026 championships. Again, applications should be sent to the ILB
Hon. Secretary by the end of August 2025.

Open Weekend 2025
Really positive numbers were once again reported by Clubs taking part in this years
Open Weekend. The format continues to be a success with improvements made
year on year – the more effort Clubs put into the project; the more benefit they get
out of it!

Live Streaming of ILB Bowls
An action was taken by the Development Officer at the previous AGM Recent to
explore more live streaming of ILB Bowls.
Using existing ILB equipment, the ILB Development Committee organised live
streaming and commentary of the CYM Premier Rinks tournament. This proved to
be a great success with over 17,000 views of the various streams. Many thanks to
all involved.
This is a pretty labour-intensive and we would welcome volunteers to help repeat the
exercise at upcoming tournaments and the championship finals.

British Isles Championships
Best wishes to all our participants in the forthcoming British Isles championships and
internationals.

Next ILB Council Meeting
It is planned to hold a Council meeting in July 25 when the ILB Championships are at
an advanced stage and Officers and Delegates are free to attend.
