It is with sadness that we report on the death of Phillis Nolan of Blackrock Bowling Club.    Phillis was an amazing bowler, a legend in our sport, She has a very distinguished record on the bowling green and was a member of the Blackrock Ladies team that won the LBLI Division 1 for 24 consecutive years.

She was an International Player from 1984 to 1999 and in that time won 3 World Titles,  She also won 5 British Isle Titles and 17 National Titles.  A very proud record of achievements during her bowling career, Only last November she was among a select group of 7 ladies who received a “Full Set Badge” awarded to those bowlers who have won each of the 4 Senior LBLI Championships during their career.

Phillis was an excellent coach and a great ambassador for the sport.  She rounded off her bowling career by serving as LBLI President in 2009.

Our sympathies at this time are with her husband Phillip and her children John, Ann, and Stephen.
